TOPIC: Faith your passport to entering your rest
TEXT: Hebrews 4:1-6 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
Message
God has a better plan for all His creatures, however, there are certain conditions/criteria that must met before those plans and promises can be activated in our lives. From the above scripture, we can see the intention of God to give us rest from our labor, to give us rest from trials and temptation, to give us rest from our troubles, to give us rest from all that we are facing. Just as God rested on the seventh day from his work but certain condition must be met before we can enter into his rest and that condition is FAITH.
Faith is absolute dependence on God. Every of God’s plan and purpose for lives will only find expression when we have absolute faith in God.
Brethren we must believe God according to His word, you must trust God and never be afraid but believe that all of His promises for your life will manifest and you shall enter into His rest.
Action point: Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Prayer point: Holy Ghost enlarge my capacity so that I can absolutely depend on God’s word
