Topic: Escape To The Mountain
Memorize: Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Read Genesis 19: 15-20
15.And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city. 16.And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city. 17.And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. 18.And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord: 19.Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: 20.Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
MESSAGE
God always have an escape route for his children. The Lord is so committed to what he has said " I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Nevertheless the strategy and pattern of escape that God gives to his children must be devoid of man's suggestion and alternatives.
From today's bible passage, the angel gave Lot a specific instruction " escape to the mountains " but he doubted God's love. The reason he gave for not wanting to escape to the mountain shows that he had a wrong impression of God. " I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
He chose an escape route for himself different from what God wanted for him.
Beloved God has an escape route for you in whatsoever situation you find yourself. Just trust him and never doubt him, you will never be put to shame.
Food For Thought: Everything that comes from God is good, never question it.
Prayer Point: Lord anywhere u lead me to I will go, I will never question you so help me lord.
