Topic: The Mirror (2)
Text: James 1:23-25
[23]For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.
[24]You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.
[25]But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
The message
Yesterday we looked at ourselves in the mirror of God's word and today we'll look into something similar.
Have you ever looked at the mirror alone and see someone else?
That's only possible when someone is behind or beside you while looking at the mirror.
Many people this days looks at the mirror to see someone else and not themselves. They say "this passage of the bible is talking about Mr this and that, whereas there is this beam in your own eyes that you're not paying attention to. Looking at the mirror first has to do with seeing yourself before anyone else, it is then you can remove the speck from the others. Jesus called such person an hypocrite (Matthew 7:5).
The word is for reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 2:16). Read and get refurbished!
Prayer: Lord I refuse to be blind, help me see myself in the reflection of your word Jesus. Amen
