Topic: The foolishness of the devil
Text: 1 Corinthians 2:8-9
[8]But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.
[9]That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.”
MESSAGE
The devil though wise in his own ways but to God he is foolish.. During the birth of Jesus Christ, the devil tried as much as possible to hinder and deny Jesus' arrival to the world, he sought every way to kill him, several babies were killed, in all of devil's attempting, he failed..
When Jesus was born into the world, the devil still sought ways of killing Jesus, he tried several effort just to make him lose focus of his assignment here on earth.
Matthew 4 from verse 1 reveals the temptations that Jesus faced after he fasted for 40days and 40nights, the devil appeared to Him so that he could fail in his pursuit of fulfilling God's agenda for his life and earth at large but Jesus Christ overcame the devil.
Furthermore, as the ministry of Jesus Christ get big and finding fulfillment, the devil sought another means of disrupting Jesus mission here on earth, according to Luke 22 v 1-2, the devil entered into Judas Iscariot even though there was a prophesy as touching to someone who should betray Jesus Christ, so devil aided it by entering into Judas Iscariot so as to identify and sell Jesus, at this attempt, the devil succeed, the devil was very excited and joyous saying his agenda has been fulfilled, he would have make a mockery of Jesus Christ saying I appeared to you in the wilderness after your fast to give you options of surviving but look at you today, I get you...
Jesus was tortured in several ways, was beaten without Mercy, the devil was rejoicing in all of this , Jesus had the opportunity to be freed when he appeared before pilate but the devil aided it and the citizen prefer an armed robber called Barabbas to an innocent Jesus Christ whose work was to deliver and help people...
At the end, Jesus Christ was sentenced to death by crucifixion, the devil was so happy that at long run, his final work had been accomplished saying there can be no king or ruler on earth but Him.. Jesus was hanged on the cross and he eventually have him.
In all of devil's attempt and his eventual success, God had a prepared plan for Jesus to be killed so that everyone could be reconciled back to God.
Hebrews 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me.
God had already prepared Jesus body to be made as a sacrifice for all creations reconciliation back to God and the devil thought he succeeded not knowing that he only aided God's plan for Jesus mission.
1 Corinthians 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
If The devil had knew that the death of Jesus would be the channel of reconciliation for all creations to God, he would have prevented Jesus from dying or even being hurt but the devil so much contributed and aid Jesus Christ death.
The peak of Jesus Christ assignment was his resurrection, the devil couldn't stop his resurrection because he could only aid his death or for him to be punished..
Halleluyah Halleluyah Halleluyah!! Glory to Jesus because God's plan was fufilled and we can be called sons and daughters of God.
God's plan for your life will be fulfilled in Jesus name.
Prayer of Thanksgiving: Thank God for his plans that they were not truncated by the devil
