TOPIC: God’s mercy endureth forever
TEXT: 1King 3: 5 – 6 (NJKV)
5. At Gibeon, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”
6. And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before you in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.””
MESSAGE:
Mercy is the ability to forgive and forget the sins of others. God’s mercy therefore is God’s ability to forgive human beings their sins and thereafter show kindness willingly without any string attached to it. God never go back on his promises, once he gives his statement to show mercy, His performance is guaranteed. God made a promise to Solomon after asking him in Verse 5 to ask for anything he wants, after Solomon chose understanding to be able discern between good and bad (Vs 9). God was so impressed with his request and He (God) gave His statement that there will be none like Solomon (Vs 12).
In summary, as Christians, let’s always know that God’s mercy endureth forever; we should always know and understand what we request from God, let’s not keep asking for material things. In the scriptures, there is no one God shows his mercy that request for material things. Let’s live beyond natural and grow maturely in Christ.
What are those problems and curses holding you at a point? Shout the name of Jesus and make your supplications known unto him. He is a God whose mercy endureth forever.
PRAYER POINT:
Thank you father for your mercy and favour in my life and my family’s life.
