GRACE CENTRE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Date: Saturday June 5th 2021
Topic: Our Duties As Believers
Text:James 2:15
15.If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16.And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

MESSAGE
Caring for others as a believer does not end with prayers or counseling, we have to tend to the physical needs of others. It is not wise to give spiritual counsel to someone that have physical needs. If you cannot meet the physical needs at the moment, you can assist that person reach out to other believers or direct the person to the church welfare.

In Christianity, we tend to forget that for us to effectively do the word of the gospel our bodies need to be in good shape. So for someone who is hungry and without anything to eat the easier way to get the person's attention is to first meet that physical need for food, that is why when king welcomed the good servant in Matt 25 the servant was wondering when he met him and clothed him, gave him food etc but the king (God) answered that in as much as the servant did it to the people around him he has done it to him.

What need are you meeting around you now? God did not give you those resources for you to hourd it. As believers, we are supposed to be a channel of God's goodness and blessings. Hope you haven't created a block?

Action Point: What needs are you meeting?

Prayer Point: Lord help me to be compassionate and make me a channel of blessings to others. Amen
