TEXT: Psalm 34:14
"Depart from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it".
MESSAGE
Conflict may arise when one person does something that displeases the other. People may offend us out of their malicious intention. Offence can also occur because people misinterpret our actions and intentions. There are several steps a mature Christians can take to resolve conflict. The Christian can approach the offending or offended party with the goal of making peace.
This requires humility and self-effacement. The Christian can go a second mile to make peace without pre-conditions when it is the other party that has offended him or her. As Christians, we should avoid taking revenge on the offending party.
Peace is elusive, unless one pursues it with determination, one cannot attain it. As you try to live peaceably with men, Satan will induce them to fight. The Psalmist says; "My soul has dwelt too long with one who hates peace, I am for peace but when I speak, they are for war.” We need to do all that lies in our power to be at peace with people and to forgive people no matter what they have done to offend us.
Prayer point: Father, let your peace which surpasses all understanding rule my heart in Jesus name.
