Topic: Teach us what we shall do
Text: Judges 13:8 "Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born."
Message
There was a man in the book of Judges 13 called Manoah, his wife was barren but the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman and said unto her "behold now, thou art barren and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive and bare a son." The woman received the good news and she informed her husband; in verse 6 the woman came and told her husband all what the angel of God told her. This shows the level her husband is honoured in her heart. God has called the husband the head, as wives let us endeavor to always treat our husbands as the head. Manoah wife treats her husband as the head she took matters to him.
Secondly, the man got the message from his wife and he took it back to God in prayer in verse 8 "then Manoah asked the Lord, and said , o my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again into us and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born." The husband did not act all sufficient, he asked for help concerning the message of God unto them. He wanted God to teach them how to go about the assignment given to them. Brethren, who do you call unto for help on how to carry out the assignments God has given you. Today, you have to take it back to God in prayer for HIM to help and teach you how to go about it, just as Manoah did. We all need someone to teach us and help us in the journey of our marriage, education, discipline, profession and life generally.
Why can't you go back to God and seek for His help on that particular task ahead of you? Try and personalize our topic for today and say to unto your maker that Oh Lord "teach me what I shall do" and He (God) will surely do.
Action Words: Take it back to God, that assignment, that task, that challenges and that jounery ahead of you, seek for the help of God in prayer. Call Him to teach you what you should do.
