TOPIC: Taste and see that the lord is good
Text: Psalms 34:8 “o taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Message
O taste and see that the lord is good, Our God is good, our God is gracious. What you see when viewing or looking at something from a distance could be more different from when you are closer to the thing or enter into the place. You might have heard about the TRINITY (The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) especially the gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ before but you didn’t take step to know more about the TRINITY. The word of God that is reaching you today is telling you that you should have a taste and you see that Our God is good and gracious.
Are you a born again Christian? but there is this word of God you have heard and you are scared to activate it or put into use, the Lord is telling you today that you should taste it, try it and you will see that the Lord is good.
Sometime, faith is like a risk, you have to push yourself into it. Sometime you have to disobey something for you to obey another thing. For you to obey God you have to disobey satan, you can’t obey God and at the same time obey satan, you can’t be doing the will of God and also be doing the will of satan it is not possible, you can’t serve two masters. Luke 16:13 says “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon”
Abraham took that risk, when God told him to sacrifice his son, he is very sure of the voice he heard and he took the risk of faith and it all ended in joy for him, he became the father of faith. Isaac also obeyed God in Genesis 26 during the period of famine, God told him not to leave the place of famine, in verse 3 of the chapter God said to him “Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you”. He believed God and obey God, he chose to disobey himself and his thought and took the risk by dwelling in the land that is full of famine but at the end he saw that the lord is good. Genesis 26:12 “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him”. Our God is good and gracious, all you need to do is to taste and you will see that the Lord is good.
Action Words: Is there any instruction of the Lord that is very difficult for you to obey? Today the word of God is telling you that you should taste and you will see that the Lord is good, try it and you will not regret your actions. Faith is a risk, take the risk, push yourself into it and you will see that the Lord is good.
Prayer: Oh Lord give me the grace to obey you when it is easy or not, when it is convenient or not. Amen
