DATE: Monday, 8th February, 2020.

TOPIC: Stop Worrying.

TEXT: Phil. 4: 6

…Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs

MESSAGE

Let’s define worry and anxiety. Anxiety is a feeling of being threatened, apprehensive or uneasy. Worry is the troublesome feeling we get when we are greatly concerned about real or imagined problems. We can be anxious without knowing exactly what we are anxious about. Worry, on the other hand, often has a traceable cause. When we worry, we usually know what we are worrying about.
A good Biblical model for dealing with worry is found in Phil. 4:1-9– an example we can use when dealing with those who are anxious and worried. We are told not to worry. Coming from God it has points and purpose. To stop worrying is not to let our minds go blank. That will only last for a while, and then the worry will come back. God’s method is to replace the worry by prayer: “instead pray about everything.”

Paul’s advice is to tell God your needs. This means that we should spell out to God the details of our problems.

ACTION POINT: The secret is simple –we replace worry by talking to God; telling Him about our problem, and trusting Him to take care of it. Stop worrying and start praying.

PRAYER LINE: Lord turn all of my worries to testimonies in Jesus name
