BIBLE TEXT: HEBREW 12:1-7
Hebrews 12: 1. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 4. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. 5. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6. For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Message
Patience is a virtue we cannot do without in our Christian race. Many a time, we aren't patience and careful enough to know when God is chastening us, when God is training us we tend to run away from his path because we couldn't wait for him to modify is.
Let's take the life of Job as an example, despite all what he faced, in all the temptation and challenge he passed through, he was patience even when his wife insulted him he was still patience and careful with his condition, can we still be patience when we are been tempted the way Job was?
When we are patience our lives looks perfect.. James 1:4
As regard the kingdom of God, for us to reign with Christ we have to be patience, alot of things will come our way, people will tell us the kingdom of God isn't real, in all, all we have to do is to be patient and hold fast to the Word of God.
We can cultivate patience as a virtue when we set our gaze on Christ.. Hebrew 12:2
Allowing God to chastened us Hebrew 12:7
Prayer point: Lord give me the knowledge to cultivate patience in Jesus name
