GRACE CENTRE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: March 21st, 2023.
TOPIC: Joy of the saved (1)
TEXT:Psalms 1:1-6
[1]Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
[2]But they delight in the law of the lord,
meditating on it day and night.
[3]They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
[4]But not the wicked!
They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
[5]They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
Sinners will have no place among the godly.
[6]For the lord watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

MESSAGE
Safety implies to put aside, to avoid, to redeem, to rescue etc. In other words a saved person is that which is redeemed from something either by avoiding, setting aside or being rescued. In our lesson today we shall be identifying that thing which we must run from as a saved individual.

Vs 1 of our text today defines the saved and as well analyses how well God must like you if you don't:
1. Follow the Advice of the wicked. We must note that before we can get an advice our ear has to be available to listen, which in most cases listening occurs at our hangouts. Then we should ask our selves what kind of hangout do we do?

2. Stand around with sinners. Friendship is inevitable but it can be determined. One of the things that will influence that choice is what we want for ourselves. It's time to filter our desires, hope they don't slink along death-end road?

3. Join with the mockery.
To mock is to Join mouth to mimic in a way to outsmart others. Oh how our intention is indeed plain before the lord.

The Lord and his kingdom is a society on its own with it's own orderings, language, believe and precepts! You can either belong with Christ or be not of him. The joy is envident in the saved as they flourish and bear thier own fruit just in the right season. They understand time and so they are not bothered, they have peace and so they live. No wonder the psalmist asked that the joy of his salvation be restored unto him when he erred ( Psalm 51).

Are you saved?

ACTION POINT;
It's time to be sincere with yourself. Do you truly have this joy?
