Topic: A little bit of worldliness
Text: Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Message
It is a debate in the contemporary church about how where the boundaries between godliness and worldliness actually is.
Especially when it comes to matters like music, a lot of argument has ensued. Listening to love songs by worldly musician isn’t bad, some even argue you can listen to worldly songs as long as that song isn’t glorifying sin.
Apostle Paul addressed all these argument by summarizing his answer in today’s bible text. If the song you are listening to isn’t pure, think on it, if the cloth you are wearing as a lady is leaving nothing to imagination, then it is not of good report. List all the arguments you have out and use today’s memory verse to judge yourself.
Shalom
Prayer point: Lord, help me not to argue blindly and don’t let me make wrong decisions.
