TOPIC: PERSISTENT FAITH
TEXT:luke 18:1-8
1: And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2:Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3:And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4:And he would not for a while: but afterward, he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5:Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6:And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7:And shall not, God, avenge his elect, which cries day and night unto him, though he bears. long with them? 8:I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Message
God hears and answers his children whenever they call upon Him. Man is designed by default to calling upon God. By redemption, believers are in a covenant relationship with God that gives us access to the reality and manifestation of the promises and covenant of God, though God knows what we need and what our heart desires are, nevertheless, it gives God joy when we call upon him with persistent faith.

Persistent faith is a constant, continuous, and consistent faith in God. It is a faith that is rooted and grounded in the word of God and does bow to the pressure of the world. It is a faith that is inexcusable. The woman in our bible text has lots of reasons to give an excuse and eventually give up, but she ignores all possible and justifiable excuses to get what she wanted. She knew the judge will answer her and that was why she was persistent.

Beloved, God is not a man that should lie, He will do all that He has promised you. Never compare yourself with others, do not give in to the pressure of the world. Do not take your gaze off Jesus, spend more time with the lord, and He will help you to be persistent.

Prayer: Lord help me not to be weary and tired, strengthen me today in Jesus name. Amen.
