TOPIC: INGREDIENTS FOR HIS FELLOWSHIP
TEXT: Acts 2:41-47 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
MESSAGE
Fellowship with the Holy Spirit requires consistency, commitment and total dedication to His course. In our text today, we see that there are key ingredients that will constantly lubricate our fellowship with the Holy Spirit which as are; Keeping close to the ordinance, diligence in the studying and doing the will of God, keeping close to the communion of the saints, getting ourselves qualified at the lord’s table and fervency in prayer are those ingredient that will continue to oil our fellowship with the Holy spirit. When these key acts are not found frequently in our Christian journey, then, our journey becomes physical and the Holy Spirit is relegated to the background.
These acts requires personal and self- discipline to be able to have unhindered fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Be determined to create time to fellowship with the Holy Spirit even among your busy schedule because once you try to ignore the Holy Spirit consistently, He then becomes inactive in your life.
Inconclusion, the Holy Spirit is a person and as such have a feelings and emotions, He can be grieved but try as much not to grieve Him but to maintain a cordial relationship with Him.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: A good soup requires good ingredients to taste good. To enjoy the Holy spirit, be ready to give your best.
PRAYER POINT: Lord, help me make sacrifices in order to enjoy the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
