Topic: The light you took for granted
Text:Jeremiah 13:15-19
[15]Listen and pay attention!
Do not be arrogant, for the lord has spoken.
[16]Give glory to the lord your God
before it is too late.
Acknowledge him before he brings darkness upon you,
causing you to stumble and fall on the darkening mountains.
For then, when you look for light,
you will find only terrible darkness and gloom.
[17]And if you still refuse to listen,
I will weep alone because of your pride.
My eyes will overflow with tears,
because the lord’s flock will be led away into exile.
[18]Say to the king and his mother,
“Come down from your thrones
and sit in the dust,
for your glorious crowns
will soon be snatched from your heads.”
[19]The towns of the Negev will close their gates,
and no one will be able to open them.
The people of Judah will be taken away as captives.
All will be carried into exile.
Message
There is something about the way that seems right to a man
; We must remember it is a one man policy, it's ordains are always directed to satisfy and comfort him who created the policy, it is in most cases born out of selfishness, etc
Today's text explains how the way of man has never satisfied the lord and in most situation we tend to follow the way of God to avoid being judged
God is against hypocrites, don't worship Him because you just have to. You can't forever pretend before God for he is ready to bring down his judgement upon such hypocrite just like he did to that short wear in VS 1-11 of Jeremiah 13
Obedience and fellowship is God's own desire. A fellowship borne of truth and Spirit, an obedience borne of a broken a contrite heart he won't refuse (Psalm 51) Are you willing to give Him a devote walk today? Take the step now
Action Point: If his people be ready to come humble, then he is ready to restore.
Prayer Point: Dear lord Jesus, I live and maintain sincerity henceforth. Amen
