Topic: In all things, Give thanks
Text; Psalms 100:1-5
[1]Shout with joy to the lord, all the earth!
[2]Worship the lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
[3]Acknowledge that the lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
[4]Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
[5]For the lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.
Message
Giving thanks is a command from God to all His children. Giving thanks to God is optional but a compulsory obligation that must be fulfilled by all.
Giving thanks doesn't have to do with a present condition whether you're happy or sad, whether God answer your prayer or not, God commanded us to give thanks to Him, for he is loving and his mercy endures forever.
You might wonder why you should give thanks always? That is because you're indeed created for His praises.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; *that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. It does becomes a duty, our life must bring praise and honour to God in all we say and act
According to the above Bible verse God called us out of darkness into His light and in return God expect us to give Him praise. Praising God or giving thanks to God is not optional but compulsory.
