TEXT:Hebrews 12:1
[1]Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
*MESSAGE*
One thing that is so sure about life and all its entails is that there are people or a group of people watching the affairs of men. In a normal context of life , we have the law enforcement agency (police, military men) etc who watch and arrest anyone who do wrong, but these law enforcer can only attend to the matter that they see or the ones they were informed about. The above opening scriptures makes us to understand that there are clouds of witness watching us, this group of people are watching the way we behave and how the affairs of our lives is going.
The cloud of witness of witness we are talking about in this passage are those who have pass through this world and have overcome, they watch the way we serve God, the watch the way we behave to our fellow human being, they watch the way we react to matters, they are praising some of us in heaven and they are weeping over some, this is a question to ask ' *What is Heaven saying concerning my life?*
Brethren, it is to be well noted and understood that both our secret lives and the ones we lived openly is naked before Heaven(The cloud of witness), those who do good and those who do evil should have this consciousness that there is a cloud of witness watching us.
The cloud of witness consist of the prophet and Apostle who have fought and won the battles of life, men such as Apostle Peter, Apostle Paul etc, all these men have passed through what we are or will pass through and they are looking at how we are living in this world knowing fully well that this world is our temporary place.
Conclusively, let us live our lives in the fear of God having the understanding that there is a cloud of witness watching us.
PRAYER POINT: Father help me to live in your fear always in Jesus name. Amen
