Topic: Importance of speaking in tongues
Text: 1 Corinthians 14:2-4
[2]For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. [3]But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. [4]He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

Message
It is expedient for us to know the importance of a gift that God has given his body (the church) and how the gift is to be used in order to fulfill the purpose of its existence.
First, we must know that the gift of speaking in tongues is from God and it's been passed across to all God's children through the Holy Ghost and it is to be noted that speaking in tongues is not only the gift of the Spirit but there are many more.
Secondly, it is important to know that the gift of speaking in tongues is for the edification of oneself and not the Church. 1 Corinthians 14:4 says,
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
So when you're speaking in other tongues, you edifying yourself or strengthening yourself. This connotes that whosoever speak in other tongues is building up him/herself.
Furthermore, the gift of speaking in tongues is to be administered everyday and every moment of our lives so as to achieve the aim of building ourselves to the full stature of Christ.

Action point: But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Jude 1:20

Prayer point: Father I take advantage of the gift of speaking in tongues
