GRACE CENTRE DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: 20th May 2022

TOPIC: The burden bearer

TEXT: Psalm 68:19

Blessed be the LORD, who daily bears our burden.

MESSAGE

Our memory verse of today is a celebration of Christ’s victory over evil. Jesus birth revolutionized life by removing the burdens of the law and sin.

Isaiah compares the Messiah’s coming to the lifting of burdens from people’s shoulders. Thus, the gift of salvation means we no longer have to carry the weight of our sin or the law’s demands. It assures all who believes in Christ that by trusting him, we will overcome evil.

If you feel over burden, it is because you are bearing loads you are not supposed to carry. God does not want you to carry the weight of the world. It is His business to be in control of the world. God does not also what you to carry around the backbreaking load of your past sins. Our sins are forgiven and forgotten if we have repented.

Jesus offers to take our heavy burdens and give us an easy lighter one, i.e. a life of following him. Allow Jesus bear your burden and concentrate on loving and obeying him.

PRAYER POINT: o Lord, may I always tap into you for strength as I take your light burden from today in Jesus name. Amen
