TEXT: Joshua 1:8
[8]Let this book of the law be ever on your lips and in your thoughts day and night, so that you may keep with care everything in it; then a blessing will be on all your way, and you will do well.

MESSAGE
Rose was surprised when her husband suggested she goes for a ‘spiritual counseling.’ She is doing fine, she is a worker in God’s vineyard, she try to keep the commandment as humanly possible and what else?
Praying and fasting but due to her busy schedule, the numbers of hours she has spend in God’s presence had reduced drastically but she finds time out to pour out her heart to God from time to time. So, why the need for this counseling, she still can’t fathom?

The counseling session lasted for just 15 minutes but the words spoken to her by the counselor kept ricocheting in her heart. Truly, when last did she challenge herself spiritually? Was Christianity already boring to her? Church is now a weekly gathering you must attend so as to fulfill the scriptures? Reading the scriptures was only when she wants to impress other people with her depth of knowledge. Even though she has been saved for 5 years counting, she hasn’t yet read her bible through for once?

Now, she can see why her husband suggested the counseling. She thought her husband was making a mountain out of a mole hill just because he caught her dozing in church and her clumsy excuse was that it was because the message was boring and that didn’t deter her husband from ensuring she goes for the counseling.

Do you also need to challenge yourself spiritually? Set goals to read a number of books weekly or monthly? If you haven’t read your bible through even for once, why not make a commitment to it? Christians are now good at paraphrasing scriptures, challenge yourself to daily quotation of bible. Don’t be a boring Christian!

ACTION POINT: Challenge yourself by writing down things you need to do and keep it in mind until your aim is achieved.

PRAYER POINT: Keep me committed Lord. Amen
