GRACE CENTRE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: 11th May 2022
TOPIC: CONTROL THE DOORWAY
TEXT: Psalms 119:145–149 (KJV) I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O LORD: I will keep thy statutes.
I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep thy testimonies.
I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in thy word.
Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.
Hear my voice according unto thy loving kindness: O LORD, quicken me according to thy judgment.
MESSAGE:
We talks to ourselves several times on a daily basis because there is always something playing in our minds. The Scripture tells us to meditate on God’s promises. The word meditate means “to think about and over.” Thus, we need to pay attention to what we’re meditating on.
Meditating is the same principle as worrying. When you worry, you’re just meditating on the wrong thing. You’re using your faith in reverse. Sometimes we go through the day worrying about our finances, worrying about our family, and about our future, but because we’re allowing the wrong thoughts to play, it’s going to cause us to be anxious, fearful, negative, and discouraged. The whole problem is what we choose to meditate on.
Control the doorway to your mind. When those negative thoughts come knocking, you don’t have to answer the door. You can say, “No, thanks. I’m going to choose to meditate on what God says about me.”
PRAYER POINT: “Father, thank You for giving me Your promises to meditate upon. I declare that my trust is in You alone and not in anything else. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
