TOPIC: THE HOLY SPIRIT’S WORK (2)

TEXT:Acts 3:1–10

Now Peter and John went up to the temple at the hour of prayer, being ninth hour,” (v1)

MESSAGE:

Yesterday we considered how salvation will inevitable take place when the Holy Spirit is involved. Today the other things to note is:

(2) People Will Be Healed

When the Holy Spirit is truly at work. Evangelism and healing will always be found, each pointing to and setting the stage for the other.

In Acts 2, three thousand people came to the Saviour in a single day.

Just think of it! The effect on Jerusalem was electric. All eyes were on the leaders of the mighty movement.

“Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, when they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

Then Peter said, “Silver and Gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them — walking, heaping and praising God. So healing followed evangelism.

(3) People will experience “No Lack”

(Act 4: 32–35)

In the midst of the mighty manifestation of the saving and healing power of the Lord Jesus, our heavenly Father provided for those saints such as they never lacked.

Action Point: The Holy Spirit is everything! Invite him now.

PRAYER POINT: My Gracious Lord, I thank You for the power in the Name of Jesus. For by His stripes and His shed blood, we are healed.
