MESSAGE: BE VIGILANT
BIBLE TEXT: be sober, be vigilant: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walketh about, seeking whom to devour

MESSAGE:
A popular man of God once said you can call devil a lot of names; fool, liar, weak being, cheat etc but you should never forget that the devil is a trickster. He is a deceiver. He is actually good at twisting thoughts in your mind in such a way that if you are not careful, you would think it’s from God or your wise self.

Apostle Peter in our today’s memory verse advised us to BE SOBER. Don’t get too intoxicated by your spiritual growth, gifts, knowledge and achievements in the kingdom to forget that your archenemy is waiting for a perfect day to strike through trickery. Therefore, bearing this information in mind while being sober at all times,

Apostle Peter further admonished us to be vigilant. Being aware of the information isn’t enough, being watchful is what will keep us from being a prey to the devil. Jesus said if a good man knows when a thief will come, he will keep watch and will not allow his house to be broken into (Matthew 24:43; 26:41)

The question is what are you to watch out for? You are to watch out for the little foxes that spoil the vine. That little lie, the little satisfaction in seeing another brother fall into error, the thought about revenge etc. Nobody fall from grace suddenly. It starts from the little evil thoughts that goes unchecked. Beloved, let’s be vigilant so as not to be devoured by the devil. Shalom

Prayer point: Lord, open my eyes to see those acts I consider insignificant now that might become a trap tomorrow for me.
