Message
The Moabites are descendants of Lot’s first born child who had Moab(a son) for his father(Genesis 19:37). As a town, these people lived reckless, unusual, and indecent. They were filled with pride, haughtiness, wrath and lies. They became unworthy of God’s fullness hence the destroyer scattered them, killed potentials and left them naked. Verse 6-7.
When we think we have it all, we should remember God who sees and knows it all, and just like a father, He chastens a rebellion, unfaithful and disobedient child. Punishments are indirect strategy to call you to sense of what is right.
Psalm 51 says even if your sins be as red like scarlet, God is ready to wash you up and clean, seek for his loving mercy today, he is always loving and ready to have you back. After the enemies (the punishment which brought them back to their senses) had freed the Moabites they realized how unworthy they were to be with God, so they sought His mercy for eternal rest.
Seek His mercy today, Matthew 7:7 and you will find. Shalom!
Prayer: God have mercy on me.
