A popular man of God said at every interval of time, he go back and humbly learn again from the basic foundational class, reminding himself of the little things that matters and cross examining his life again with what seems to many as basics in the kingdom. This act is worthy of emulations as in the kingdom, you can never be too careful. The bible talks about Job, a man who offer sacrifices for forgives even when he is not certain if his children has sinned or not (Job1:5)
Today, Holy Spirit wants us to examine the works of the flesh, not as a routine but carefully so that this teaching will be in vain. The works of the flesh includes:
Adultery: This is when a married man or woman have an extra marital affair with another person outside their spouse. Some married people give flimsy excuse for indulging in this sin such as ‘my wife isn’t caring’, ‘my husband is stingy’ etc
Fornication: Having sex outside of marriage as a youth is not dating, it is fornication. Some excuses like, ‘we are getting married in few months’ ‘everybody in his family knows me’ ‘I just want to show him I love him’ doesn’t make you married and sex is only reserved for the marriage.
Uncleaness: Any unclean acts that doesn’t give God glory is a sin. A lot of people do say, but this act (e.g gambling) isn’t written in black and white in the bible, does it count as a sin? Yes it does. As long as it is an unclean act, it is a sin
Lasciviousness: Also called sensuality or indecency. Ladies need to be careful so as not to fall into this sin. The shift in fashion in this 21st century is to sexy clothes, slangs like ‘dress to kill’ is the priority. Who do you play on killing? Devil or brothers in the Lord. Let there be moderation in all you do and wear.
Prayer point: Lord, help me to see myself in this teaching so that I will correct that which needs to be corrected in my life.
