Topic: A double minded man

Text: James 1:8

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Message

There is a saying that " half full or half empty". Our faith in God must be full as a whole, not half full or half empty. Any Christian that his/her faith is half full or full empty can be liken to a double minded man.

In Matthew 14:28 when Peter saw Jesus Christ walking on the sea he said "Lord if is You command me to come to You on the water " Jesus answered him in verse 29 and He said come. Peter walked on the water to meet Jesus, but at the point he doubted and was afraid, so he began to sink, if not for the immediate intervention of Jesus Christ as it was recorded in the book of Matthew 14:31 "And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" Nothing should take our heart or eye away from God (Romans 8:35)

Half full or half empty faith can not take us to God’s Kingdom. A faith that is lukewarm is of no use in the race to God’s Kingdom. Revelation 3:16 says "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." For God not to send us out from His kingdom, we must not be divided or lukewarm.

Prayer point: God, don’t allow the things of this world to take away my faith from You. Give me the power an strength overcome the spirit of lukewarmness in my life.
